Our Goal

Our goal is to provide a means of networking and educational tools for HR leaders in the Catawba Valley region. Since our inception in 1946, the Piedmont Human Resource Association (PHRA) has been a place where HR professionals can come together and exchange ideas and discuss various HR-related topics.

Our group has evolved into one that has a more diverse function with regard to personnel and human resources than ever before. The PHRA has endeavored to develop and offer training and seminars to meet the continually evolving organizational and professional needs of the membership.

All levels of human resource professionals have representation in our organization. PHRA meets monthly, not only to network, but to educate our members. We feature a guest speaker focusing on cutting-edge issues in areas such as human resources, benefits, insurance, wellness, compensation, safety, labor and employment law, as well as many other industry-related topics.

The origination of the Piedmont Human Resource Association began in 1946. It was originally referred to as the Piedmont Personnel Association, until members voted for the name change in 2006. The format of PHRA began with the exchange of ideas and discussion among area human resource professionals. This group has evolved into one that has a more diverse function, with regard to personnel and human resources, than ever before. The Piedmont Human Resource Association has endeavored to develop and offer training and seminars to meet the continually evolving organizational and professional needs of the membership.

PHRA meets monthly, not only to network, but we also feature a guest speaker focusing on cutting-edge issues in areas such as human resources, benefits and compensation, safety, labor and employment law, as well as many other industry-related topics.
